Our Approach to Achieving Animal Welfare Goals
-
Institutional Interventions
We work directly with schools, local governments, health institutions and other bodies to integrate animal welfare into policies, operations and education systems. This includes promoting plant-based meals; incorporating animal welfare into educational curricula and helping institutions adopt humane and sustainable practices.
-
Public and Individual Interventions
We engage individuals and communities through awareness campaigns, workshops and behavior change programs. By increasing knowledge and compassion toward animals, we aim to shift daily choices toward more humane and sustainable actions such as reducing animal product consumption and adopting cruelty-free alternatives.
-
Grassroots Projects
We collaborate with local communities on practical community-led solutions. These include plant-based farming projects, animal welfare education in rural schools and village-based campaigns to promote ethical treatment of animals. Grassroots work ensures long-term impact and ownership by the people most affected.
-
Media and Communication
We use traditional and digital media to raise awareness, tell stories, challenge harmful norms and inspire compassion. Through radio, TV, social media, visual campaigns and storytelling, we bring animal welfare issues into public dialogue and encourage collective action.
-
Lobbying and Policy Advocacy
We advocate for stronger laws and policies that protect animals and improve food systems. By engaging policymakers, participating in consultations and mobilizing public support, we push for change at national, regional and continental levels.
-
Research and Knowledge Sharing
We conduct and promote research that highlights animal welfare issues, evaluates interventions and identifies opportunities for progress. Evidence-based advocacy allows us to influence decision-makers and improve the effectiveness of our programs across Africa.
